Doesn't matter--OP's dig at other high schools is obnoxious. S/he could have just asked if anyone had kids at Walls and what they thought about the program's rigor and whether their kids liked it.

SWW is perceived as more rigorous because the students tend to be strivers - not necessarily bad. The kids put a fair amount of pressure on themselves and each other. The curriculum, while it has science and math, has a humanities bent. PP is right that Wilson has rigor; in fact it offers more AP classes.

There are equally bright and committed students at a host of schools including Banneker and even McKinley which has a 2018 graduate now attending Stanford.

Went to the open house last night and thought the school sounded like a pretty good fit for us. DS has the numbers to get to the test etc. What I'm not sure of is do students like the experience? There weren't any students to talk to so I didn't get a good feeling of if students are happy/challenged there. Is the curriculum really that challenging or is it a really good school and the bar is set so low at other DCPS HS that SWW seems rigorous? Anyone BTDT who can chime in?
