What? This is genius!
I love my mixer for baking, but I would never have thought to try this.

I keep mine on the kitchen counter and essentially never use a hand mixer.

I pretty exclusively use the wisk type attachment and I put it in the dishwasher.

Could you say more?

NP the coating on mine came off in the dishwasher

Mine is 18 years old and I regularly put them all in the DW with no problem. I didn't know that chicken thing, though!

I haven’t had any problems putting the paddle or dough hook in the dishwasher, but the whisk did get kind of weird. I think parts of it are untreated aluminum and oxidized in the heat/water.

I have the paddle attachment, whisk, and dough hook.

Homemade whipped cream is incredibly fast and easy, and so much better than those cans.

Dough hook is great for making bread, but is probably the least used of the three.

I’d love to add a shredder attachment. And I’ve heard good things about the pasta roller/cutter, but I’m not sure I’d use it enough to justify the purchase.

Very heavy. I would not get another one as we have a small kitchen and it takes up a lot of counter space but too heavy to move. Ours must be 30 years old from my mom and going strong. I put everything in the dishwasher/no issue.

Thanks for posting the question. I just pulled mine out of the cabinet to make a Splendid Table recipe I was disappointed in. I found a space on the counter and now need to justify keeping it there.

+1

This is the most used function of our stand mixer.

My advice - keep it accessible. I don’t use mine because it’s heavy and a pain to get out.

I'm so excited - getting our first Kitchenaid stand mixer as a gift from my parents for Christmas. Other than upping my baking game, tell me about all your favorite hacks and which add-ons/accessories are worth purchasing. I can't wait to start putting it to use!
