Advil/ibuprofen/motrin (all the same) CAN and DO CAUSE ulcers, stomach irritation, bleeding, etc. If you do take it, take it with food to 'soften the blow' to the stomach. Anyway, posters like 12:13 are very scary in their self righteousness and 'WRONG WRONG WRONG' information.

My dad almost died from a bleeding ulcer (black tarry stools, etc) from taking too much motrin. He had a stint in an ICU for 5 days for it.

I would consult a doctor, but for what it is worth, taking too many NSAIDS caused me to get a stomach ulcer.

NSAID = Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Tylenol is not anti-inflammatory.

Both Aspirin AND NSAIDS (Advil, etc.) are very hard on your stomach.

Also - I'd be quite hesitant to take medical advice from a poster who cannot spell the name of the drug she's talking about. (That's you, 12:20.) It's ibuprofen - with an E.

It's usually recommended to take pain relievers for no more than 10 days. What do the directions say? Are you the person who posted about pain after getting cavities filled? Please go see another dentist for a second opinion as to what's wrong.

Read the label instructions. Look it up on the internet. Call your physician. Call a pharmacist.
