Seems like this is an age where the boys are stretched out in what they're interested in. My K DS doesn't do things like Star Wars and lots of superhero stuff, but is still into trains, dress-up and stuffed animals. He can't manipulate Legos yet either. He's also young for his age.

My 7- and 5-year-olds still love PP, but they also like Puppy Dog Pals. One the 7-year-old's classmates has a PP backpack and lunchbox still. If your DS wants a PP toy, go ahead and get him what he wants. If he moves on soon after, so be it. There are no guarantees with how long children will be interested in certain toys. My 5 year old has also had a resurgence in Mickey Mouse, so who knows?

No, he outgrew that by the time he was five.

I wouldn't get too much. We got several PP things last xmas and they were dropped soon after.

Ha, wish we could give you our gear!

Do they have Paw Patrol lego kits? Maybe you can keep the theme but move to an older style of toy.

Buy your kid some paw patrol if he likes it. Get him more age appropriate toys too. No big deal.

+1
There are more age appropriate Paw Patrol toys for the older set (puzzles, books, walkie talkies, headphones, board games, etc).
And you can always get him useful paw patrol things like a paw payrol sleeping bag, toothbrush, slippers, dinner plate set, etc).

Was there a specific PP toy your kid had his heart set on? Even if he doesnt end up playing with it as much as you hoped, those types of "I hope Santa brings me..." are priceless when he unwraps it on Christmas morning.

That's what my 5.5 year old is getting. He's outgrowing Paw Patrol but hasn't yet. His older brother watches it too, when it's on.

My 5 yo has been over Paw Patrol for a while now. He's into Minecraft, animals, etc. I wouldn't go that direction unless that is the only thing he requested in which case I'd let my own reservations go. Mine had 2 years where the only thing he wanted were Magic Tracks, cheap horrible product, but that's what he got. At least it wasn't expensive!

Mine is 6 and we just got rid of all of it without any argument from him. Honestly, I find that at this age, they grow out of everything so quickly. I just assume that half of the stuff coming in under the tree this year will be going to charity next year.

My soon to be 6 year old has the toys but doesn't play with them really - actually he never really played a lot with them to begin with - but he still likes wants the tv show.

My kindergartner, who is not quite 5 1/2, has expressed some interest in Paw Patrol toys for Christmas -- he used to love the shows but has moved on a bit. Do older kids still play with Paw Patrol, or is this a thing that he'll just leave behind in a month?
