I don't see where DCPS can't take cash. Our school hasn't advised that and my reading of the regulations say no cash between DC employees, but from outside sources, the word cash is not used and a gift can include a gratuity, which means cash to me. We are doing cash.

DCPS prohibits cash. Also limits individual gifts.

Last year at end of year we collected as a class, each teacher received an Amazon gift card for several hundred dollars. Together with cards from kids, this was a hit.

We had a convo about this in the teacher lounge today, the answer is cash, then Amazon, Target, and Visa gift cards. We love anything that comes with it too (ie something special that you like) but the answer is cash.

You can't go wrong with Target or Amazon, or a Visa gift card, or cash (which is what we're doing).
