Alaska is on the convergence of 3 major plates.
Fracking is not responsible for this earthquake. Plate tectonics are.

The quake was 25 feet deep so that probably helped keep it from being worse too. I’m sure more information will be out by the end of the day. Meanwhile I need to get serious about having an emergency kit ready to go. Our house is anchored to the foundation which theoretically means we should be able to shelter in place, but it would still be a good idea to have a go bag handy so everything is close to each other.
