As Anothe PP notes, DH does this any time it’s a CC receipt. He checks every single one on his statement.

To me, this is making light of his being careful on his statements vs. a crack against you.

That being said, if you’re already assuming the worse, then maybe your relationship isn’t the one you should be in.

That alone isn't a red flag. Are there other things that have happened?

Did he say it jokingly or with a smile, or more of a threatening tone?

Super weird. I hate men who are cheap if they have money. Run.

me again. I just googled and there are several apps out there for this.

however, I would just ask him! communicate! if my husband did that I would say Wait are you serious?! and then he would realize it was a poor joke and then say oh no sorry that was a bad joke blah blah

Red flag that points out corny not-funny person who tries unsuccessfully to be funny. I couldn't live with that long term.

Everybody in outright panic mode over every little thing.

You've been dating him for over a year, is this the last in a pattern of weird score keeping/controlling-with-money incidents or just a joke that didn't hit its mark?

And was it expensive like Jaleo or expensive like Ruth Chris or expensive like Pineapple and Pearls?

Note it's "Ruth's Chris"

Bad joke but I could live with it. He may have had more wine then needed.

He's probably just being funny. I wouldn't think much of it. Btw, how much was the tab?

You’re dating a guy for a little over a year, and he takes you out to a somewhat expensive restaurant for your birthday. He gets the bill and takes a picture of it and says I need to remember this when my birthday comes around. Would you consider this to be a red flag?
