Are you trying to pay Citi directly or use citi online banking? I use the latter and have no problem with electronic bill payments over $10k but can’t do a check through online banking over $10k. So then I have to do multiple checks. It’s not a daily limit so I can do them at the same time.

No issue paying $10K bills through Bank of America (including a Citibank bill). I'd absolutely consider switching over that - but at least give the bank a call...maybe it's an account type issue?

I pay Amex over 10k all the time without problems.

+1 Our bill isn't usually that high, but when it is I just select statement balance and don't get any problems from Chase.

OP here - yes, I already set up 2 payments each month to get around it. I'm just trying to figure out if all banks are doing this, and why it would apply to paying a bill.

Each day just pay $9500 till it is all paid. Problem solved.

I know this is a first world problem, but for the last 2 months our credit card bill has been over $10k (upcoming vacations, Christmas, etc.) Each time I've gone in to set up the online payment with Citibank, it tells me I can't pay it - the amount has to be under $10K. I know the whole rule about not allowing deposits over $10k or regulating them for money laundering purposes, but I'm not depositing anything - just paying a credit card bill with money in my bank account. Is this just a Citibank thing, or do all the banks do this now? Anyone in the industry know - thanks!
