It is so incredibly frustrating, esp bc my DH and my favorite thing to do it travel! But we just decided to focus on shorter, less planned trips. Work travel was a huge pain, but I ended up telling them so they would understand when I had to decline travel. It all sucks.

Thanks for the comments, ladies. It’s nice just knowing others are frustrated about the same issue.

I have this problem with scheduling around work travel, especially because my work travel dates can shift at a moment's notice. I'm part of a test team, so dates aren't ever fixed, even just a week or so in advance. Such a headache.

I hear you, and became a big proponent of last-minute getaways during week two of the TWW. I found it easier to wait when I was distracted. If you're trying to drink, get away for a weekend after a negative test result. We still traveled during cycling, just nowhere that required advance planning. Now that we have kid(s), it's much more difficult to go anywhere!

A solution to your husband's travel interfering with IUI timing is to freeze his sperm ahead of time. Sure it would increase the overall cost, but for some people that may be money well spent to not have to delay for another cycle.

It’s annoying, I know, but unfortunately what needs to be done. I did skip a few cycles for big trips I didn’t want to move but it took two years to conceive so didn’t want to miss out on everything.

I miss feeling free to travel, too. We just decided we won’t be traveling for the foreseeable future and it’s sad.

Honestly, not sure there is any advice to be gleaned from this, but I could stand to vent or get some other perspectives.

While TTC and pursuing fertility treatments (doing a few IUIs, since insurance covers them, before moving to IVF), I am just so tired of trying to plan travel around the likely essential dates for treatments. It is such a downer to be excited to visit family, find some great flights, and then have to guess if the dates are going to interfere with monitoring or insemination. I really miss feeling more lighthearted and free with my schedule. Last month, DH had a big work trip during the week when the IUI would have needed to happen. I was sad, but didn't talk much about it because what can you do.

I know I'm not the only one annoyed and disheartened by things like this. Ugh.
