It is. Too little aid. Lots of UMC mostly white kids.

BC has no fraternities, absolutely no greek system whatsoever, whether official or unofficial. However, it does have Division 1 sports.

We are in Boston. Went to visit last summer, my laid back jewish kid hated it. Campus is beautiful but catholic landmarks everywhere which was a turnoff for him. The local kids i know who go there are very much into sports and frats. I know people who go/went there love it but not for my son. He loved BU and Brandeis, even umass amherst more than bc

In the Catholic community Notre Dame, BC and Georgetown are Harvard, Princeton and Yale.

BC is fun, safe, outside the city... quick ride on the T to Boston.

Most people I know that go there are rich Catholics.

The opposite of WASPy. It's where Boston Irish Catholics went, back when WASPy establishment schools would not admit them.

It is preppy, wealthy CATHOLICS. Kids who went to schools like Prep, Gonzaga, Regis in NY, St. Ignatius in Chicago, etc. Bu definition they are not WASPs.

This is not intended as snark but as food for thought: does "three waspy well off family friends" say as much about you as you think it says about the college their daughters attend?

Not at all! I literally know nothing of it and talking with family friends over the holiday we realized three waspy well off family friends currently have daughters there. Wasn't sure if it was just a coincidence all three were same demo. Or if the girls targeted the college or likely it was a safety after not getting into ___?

I did my MA at BC. Yes, it is very much a stereotypically "rich" preppy school. Not that there is anything wrong with that: this is a secure, familiar environment for many kids, and something they actively choose. The campus is beautiful and safe, and I have never met a BC alum who didn't love BC.

The three family friends we know with kids there act waspy and their kids went to elite prep schools. But other than that I don't know much about it. Maybe it's an elite prep school safety?
