It says on their site that the essay has to be typed... no handwritten essays allowed when you do this option of testing. My child has never typed anything in his life and would not be able to type an essay, so would we be able to do this online ISEE test and just forgo the essay?? What would a school think of this? Anyone have experience with this?
Sorry I had to reactivate this old post as I was searching for some information about essay writing for ISEE.
How can they expect a 4th grader (just entering 4th grade) type an entire Essay. It will take her a whole hour just to type in the essay. is it possible to take a photo of what one wrote on paper?

Can he take the ISEE at a testing location where he can handwrite the essay? My DS took it a few years ago at a local independent school sometime in December if I remember correctly. Another question is how is it that your 5th grader has never typed anything? Are you coming from a Waldorf school?
My DD is at a “big3” here and in in 4th and had doesn’t type much. Not even enough to type an essay for a test. Anything they type theybwork on for many weeks.
I Personally am perfectly happy with the lack of dependence on computers at her school. Let the kids work on their fine motor skills. This is the time. They have the rest of their lives to text and type.
