She is perfectly ok, no other symptoms, she has no allergies to eggs. I was told those bite-looking bumpgs it "should" go away after 1 or 2 days but after 48 hours it still shows up from time to time. I shows up quickly, remains for about 15 minutes then disapear. I would really like to know how many days other cases like mine took to resolve by themselves.

By searching on the Net I scared myself cause some seem to remain with this for the rest of their life!

I got hives after my h1n1 shot. I still have them. They came on about 3 days after the shot and have lasted a week. Very itchy. I also contracted the h1n1 flu shortly after the shot but I was exposed to it around the same time.

My daughter received the H1N1 vaccine and 2 days later she had hives all over her body. It started in her diaper area and moved to face, back shoulders tummy. It's been 4 days now and she is still getting them here and there. My Pediatrician doens't know the cause but says it could be the vaccine and recommends that she NOT go and get the second half of the shot just in case she has a more serious reaction. I gave her benadryl and it went away but came back after 6 hours.

Please make sure you report this to the CDC (they have a number where you can report problems or reactions). They will record the vaccine batch you got (from your little card) and if they get enough reports from the same batch, , they will alert others who also got it (that is why its so important that you get that little card).

While it might be an unknown allergy, it could also be something else and if they get enough reports they can begin to investigate whether its an individual reaction or something worth further inquiry. Also, since the vaccine is so new, it will help them figure out typical reactions so that they can update their 'warning' page so that people know what to expect.

My DD has a long history of hives (not triggered by vaccines, though). I recommend her allergist Dr Mark Scarupa @ the Institute of Asthma and Allergy. He has some sort of specialized training in hives from Johns Hopkins. http://www.allergyasthma.us/

I hop you are reporting these reactions to the state or appropriate agency! They are supposed to be recording any side effects from the vaccine. i would say this is a concern, and not just an allergic reaction, based upon how many people are posting in this topic about red bumps/hives from the shot.

Any possibility they are allergic to the thimerosal?

My daughter got hives over 24 hours after getting te H1N1 Shot.. So i'm not sure if its from that or not? Did anyone hear of anything about hives yet on the news or anything?

My 16 month old has also gotten hives all over his body right after his H1N1 shot yesterday, started with red ears then legs back arms everywhere. No other allergies to anything before and three weeks ago got the flu shot. Nobody could tell me anything. Also when he woke up this morning he was covered again with hives. Very scary. Anyone experiencing this? He was the only one who it happened to at the clinic I was at.

That's what happened to my DCs and I when we took penicillin...we are all allergic to it.

I read about hives reaction after H1NI vax in Japan...it's a rare side effect, but it can happen.

no. very strange. never had an allergic reaction to anything before, including all other vaccines, last year's flu shot. our dr wants to test him for egg allergy in 3-6 weeks, but obviously v. concerned, in the meantime...
