So according to the utilization grid, the only DC or charter schools at more than 110% capacity for SY 2017-18 were:

110%+ -- Powell, Roosevelt and SWW

95-110% -- Wilson, Janney, Lafayette, Maury, Ross, Eaton, Brent, Oyster-Adams (Adams) - 95-110%

80-95% -- Deal, Oyster-Adams (Oyster), Hearst, Hardy, Shepherd


I can't find Murch or Bancroft on the grid; either because I missed them or perhaps because they were in swing space during 17-18?

Short of an additional high school I do not know what would solve the Wilson pyramid's overcrowding. Their Coolidge proposal is not going to make a dent because it lacks any real attempt to address academic deficiencies. Maybe the Banneker expansion would peel off a few dozen kids.

Not PP, but I suspect the idea here is to provide some relief from overcrowing in upper NW. Not sure they will want to take their medicine though.

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. They think kicking out a Bancroft (insert your idea here) will be enough to address overcrowding. Lafayette and Janney are overcrowded as well. One idea is that Lafayette could go to Brightwood (right down Military).

it says expected growth by 2027-2028 school year is 122k. So they're planning for the longer-term.
