They have to approve the calendar well before the 2020 election. They’ll close for Inauguration Day without regard to political events.

They should not close if Trump is re-elected.

But it actually is Hogan’s exec order that dictates the calendar. He would say that’s a good thing so it’s not actually blaming.

The School Board voted yesterday to approve next year's school calendar. They went with Option 1 (as posted on the MCPS website), which does include a full spring break. They made it clear, however, that people should not expect a full spring break the following year because it is an election year and the calendar will be more difficult to create.
