Yes for honey baked. It’s a tradition with us I guess!

Another vote for Honey Baked Ham.....I'll be standing in line on Wednesday to pick up ours. Fairfax County cops are there to direct traffic, LOL.

I bought a ham at Giant a few years ago that had lots of gristly parts and when I sliced it it seemed there was a lot less meat than usual.

Not true. There is a lot of difference in the hams. I bought one generic at Giant one year and it was strange and disgusting.

America's test kitchen rated a Johnson's farm spiral as the best. I recall that the Honey Baked didn't do that well in their testing.

It's probably too late but the best hams ever are Petit Jean peppered hams. You have to order them and have them mailed to you (2 day shipping). I think they are in the $60-80 range in terms of price.

We usually do Honey Baked Ham but last year I dropped the ball so we had the Safeway spiral sliced ham instead. It was certainly different (not a heavy glaze, not as smoked) but it was yummy. We will be going back to Honey Baked this year because we have 1 person who just loves it but I would be perfectly happy to do the Safeway spiral sliced ham again instead.

Prefer not a country ham, but slightly sweet, and slightly smoky, but not overpoweringly, make-your-house-smell like a smokehouse smoky. THe kind that is not squidgy or spongey. Willing to pay big money for really excellent quality. Is Harringtons good? Also would prefer not pre-sliced. Local options are Niman Ranch, Honey of a ham, and Wellshire farm. Are the two in Williams Sonoma catalog good? Do I have to get 2 to feed 16 people?
