My husband does a, b and c without being asked. He will do e if I ask. Ironing is for special occasions only.

DH is a work in progress but I'm slowly getting him there. It may take the rest of my life but at least I have a plan.

My husband meets all of those qualifications. Is he perfect? No, but neither am I. Do I feel lucky to have him in my life every day? You bet. As he told me just yesterday, "We make an excellent team." That's far more important than perfection.

5 years ago my husband encouraged me to take up golf so that we could spend more time together. Who but a perfect husband would do that? No, he's not crazy though I'm sure his golf buddies would disagree with me.

Mine isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination but he is just right for me. He often jokes that his sole reason for being is to make me happy and he does a darn good job at it. If he was perfect I'd end up feeling like a loser because I'm far from it.

Well, my definition of perfect is probably different from yours.
I don't care if he cooks, I love cooking.
Thoughtful - yes, very.
Buys special presents - not all the time, but on big occasions like milestone birthdays/anniversaries - yes.
Treats me like a princess - no, and I would hate that. I'm not a princess. He does treat me like an equal partner, which I love.
Makes good money - good enough for me. We earn about the same.
In addition - he's fun, makes me smile. He shares equally in all kid-rearing and household duties. He supports my efforts to get ahead in my career, by taking care of the kids and arranging childcare as needed. We take fun, active vacations together. We have some joint hobbies and some separate hobbies. We're partners in everything.
