It might be worth it to ask your son's teacher if he/she has any recommendations. That is how we found a tutor for my daughter. The teacher was friends with another English teacher in a nearby school.

I cannot say enough good things about Robert Grossman. He works with our son as a tutor and with test prep. He is exceptional at connecting with him and not just helping him get better but helping him feel better about his capabilities. He's not cheap but worth it to us.
