Not exactly. ticket uses AT&T towers. But AT&T uses AT&T towers as well as other towers. So Cricket has some gaps in coverage particularly outside big cities.

That said, my DH and I are happy Cricket customers of 2 years.

How is coverage within the US? I have Verizon too and I'm tired of the constant data overages after they kicked me off of my grandfathered unlimited data plan and now my bills keep creeping up. I do need good coverage though as I own a business that relies heavy on a call line.

We also have Cricket and are happy with it. One note about traveling internationally - Mexico (and perhaps Canada) is covered so regular coverage continues there. Overseas is not covered so as PP noted, you'd need to buy a temp SIM card if you want to use your phone.

Same. I love Cricket and especially love the price. I really haven't had anything bad happen in 4 years with them. I have unlimited everything I believe.

cricket is a monthly plan. Tracfone (which I have had since 2003) is a pay as you go plan. I buy a year of service at a time. Remaining balance rolls over. No, it's not for drug dealers. I signed my parents up for Cricket -- they are in their late 70s. It was better for them than tracfone b/c they are heavy talkers on the phone, so they needed unlimited minutes. Tracfone isn't as good if you talk a lot on your phone.

Awesome. One thing I'll never do is buy phones on the monthly plan again so this works for me while trying to get rid of some debt and unnecessary payments.

Yep. We've had it for 5 years now. It's great. We have 5 phones for $100 a month including taxes.

The only downside is you buy your phones separately.

Does anyone here use Cricket Wireless? I currently have AT&T and paying a fortune for service and equipment fees. Going to pay off the equipment fees immediately and cancel three lines on my account but I still think Cricket would be cheaper than AT&T even after that. Would like to get my cell phone costs down to $100 for two phones. Is Cricket worth moving to or is the coverage and service trash?
