Yeah, I think the key is something you can continue to snack on slowly in case it's a long night. Maybe something like chili rubbed mango or wasabi peas from Trader Joes? And beer -- you drink it more slowly than other forms of alcohol.

My go to comfort foods are usually buttered pasta and pudding, but I can eat waaaaaay too much of either of those.

Another very calming drink is as follows: hot milk with a little sugar, vanilla, and brandy. It may be the most calming thing one can drink and will put you to sleep if you need the help. (For teetotalers, hot milk with honey in it is also good.)

Left over Halloween candy and wine, of course. Screw the calories.

I'm gonna go with comfort food dinner: either some leftover rack of lamb or turkey meatballs in marinara. Follow up with some sorbet, I may add cool whip or some frozen mango or strawberries if I really feel I need something else.

I second the popcorn suggestion.

Drink-wise, if the results go Dem -- champagne. If the results go GOP -- vodka to drink straight to drown my sorrows.

Nope - no desire to talk politics - just eating habits. I like the popcorn idea. Any others?

It needs to be a weighted blanket and I suggest ordering Thai .. start with a Martini and end with a glass of white wine.

No, you do not need comfort food and drinks. What you need is a "news fast."

Air popped popcorn specifically has like 20 calories per serving. You can snack on that all day long today.
