They may have consumated the marriage in the back of the helicopter. In fact, this may have been what caused the pilot's heart attack.

I work on helicopter crashes for work. No way would I ever get in one

They died so soon after the wedding that neither the bride nor groom got to post pictures themselves.

Their pilot looked old enough to be in the grave himself. I'm guessing he had a heart attack while flying.

Gerald Green Lawrence has been identified as the pilot in the helicopter crash that killed 2 newlyweds near Uvalde, Texas, just an hour and a half after the wedding.

I’m sure this is the least of their families concerns.

Adding to the above - neither have kids - so it'd only be right for the parents of both families to take back what each kid contributed and call it a day.

I feel terrible for them all of course but bad for whoever funded the wedding most.

The consummation is only the religious aspect of a marriage...which as you well aware holds no meaning outside of the church. Tell the IRS a priest married you but present no legal marriage certificate and they'll laugh in your faces.

So if the helicopter victims legally wed before a judge or court barrister prior to their religious ceremony on-board the helicopter then its a far more complicated situation on who will inherit what from both spouses.

You don't have to consummate to be legally married...

You're legally married when you sign the marriage license with witnesses. We did this at our rehearsal in the church.
