I hope hogan can get this decision reversed and DJ doesn't win any of his salary back in court

If they fired him they would be on the hook for his full salary. They had no legal basis for firing so they would likely also face a wrongful termination suit.
The training staff was incompetent and not properly trained, which is not Durkin's responsibility.
I suspect more will also be revealed that the Board had access to that has not been revealed.

Loh is Asian and Durkin is white. 12 of the 17 Board of Regents members are white.

Today's Washington Post:

"It’s not a university, it’s a canker sore with a couple of dormitories strapped to its suppurating side. Don’t let your son so much as look at an application...It’s not a safe place for athletes, or students. It’s a place for belly snakes."

Ouch. Yes, we will pass on this very sub-par institution!

The right decision. Two investigations cleared the coach. College football is a purposeful highly negligent activity that society at this time has chosen to enthusiastically allow. 350 lb 20 year olds should be carefully losing at least 100 lbs and being kept from a future of obesity, diabetes, joint issues, heart problems , brain injuries.. Etc.

Any school that plays football at the D1 level is culpable in damaging their students.

Because of the football thing?

As a UMD alum and athletic supporter, I'm very disappointed in the leadership...

Should have fired all three

Don’t let your children attend the University of Maryland in College Park. Just don’t do it. It’s not a university, it’s a canker sore with a couple of dormitories strapped to its septic side. It’s not a safe place for students. It’s a place for belly snakes. To quote Bette Davis, “What a dump.”

I am really hoping my two kids get into UMD CP. They have absolutely no connections with football so who cares about that in terms of future admissions, really?

Op, your first two sentences are spot on. The third - well, that's your right, I suppose. The fourth is nonsense.

Perhaps it's not Penn State-level misconduct, but it speaks to a profound lack of integrity. We've told DS that we won't pay for him to attend UMD-College Park after this fiasco. The value of a UMD degree won't be what it once was.

Pedophilia State covered up child rape for 30 years...College Pork is very different!

Riiiight.

I think many people are disgusted with this football fiasco but to say that it will lessen the value of a UMD degree is ridiculous. I am a proud UMD alum and am crossing my fingers that my DS gets accepted there this year.
