It was a much different show when he was still hosting. Took me forever to get used to Drew Carey even though I really like him.

This thread reminds me that cheers had to insert the line “Cheers is filmed before a live studio audience” b/c people complained that the laugh track was too loud.

UK (original) version of The Weakest Link. All I can remember is how tedious it was. The edited show you see on tv is nothing like the drawn out version of the actual filming.

I have seen Letterman in person. What struck me was how much they tried to goose the audience reaction with flashing applause signs and a staff person who would clap wildly in case we all forgot how.
