The lawyer. I like nice things.

But that's my priority. If the hairdresser is a better personality fit or has the qualities you want - like you think she'd make a better mother than the lawyer or you come from the same hometown and you think you want to move back with someone who understands that community - then the hairdresser.

Also only the lawyer if she plans to keep working. If she doesn't, it doesn't really matter does it?

Of the five loves of my life the hairdresser had the best hours and always had cool pretty friends, the lawyer was far too analytical to be any real fun and always seemed preoccupied (usually rightly so); usually people with jobs they can mostly leave at the office seem to have more to give to the important things in life.
I'd pick the hairdresser over the lawyer.

I dated both a hairdresser and a lawyer. Married someone else. They were both pretty, and honestly the hairdresser was probably more intelligent, the lawyer was helpless and only knew what she had read.

Whoever shows up for the relationship stuff. I married the hairdresser, because I was dating her, because she said yes to invitations. Not "too busy with 70-hour workweeks", not "you're not Ivy league".

This says nothing about their personalities and belief systems. Those factors have a bigger factor in determining if the marriage lasts, not beauty or job title.
