Pot messes up your brain. I watched a kid - with zero family history - become a paranoid schizophrenic within a couple of years of starting to smoke pot recreationally. When he has his worst episodes, they are always flashbacks to the time when he was smoking most heavily. He had a really bright future due to some natural talents he had, and now his future is totally gone. Now life for his family is about trying to keep him alive and stop him from hurting others. It's very, very sad.
