If you were paying her, she was taking on a job and it would be unprofessional to not follow thru and give no notice. If she was doing this as a favor, the expectations are lower, but you should still let a person know if you reversed on something you said you would do that was very important/crucial. Like if I said, no problem, I’ll mail out your bill, I’m on the way to the post office and then suddenly another thing superseded and I never got to go. It’s on me to communicate back to you that I thought I could do this but can’t. Not to leave you thinking everything is great and suddenly you get an overdue notice for the bill.

Find different childcare OP. I would be upset because she doesn't have the balls to tell you that she can't do it anymore.

Upset is unimportant. Why does it matter if people agree that they would be upset? Sorry you have this problem. It's unfortunate. Good luck.

Strange. Has she been posting elsewhere online? If not, I'd be worried something happened vs she bailed

Title says it all. My friend was so excited for her daughter to have a friend to play with in the mornings. My first day was Tuesday. Everything went well according to my friend. She said my son was behaved well. She sent lot's of videos. I sent a text message yesterday and Facebook message today confirming she's still ok with doing childcare and I haven't heard anything from her. I am assuming she's too embarrassed to tell me? We always communicate through Facebook. I have to scramble to get childcare now for Friday and going forward. I guess it's better that thing's fell through in the beginning but really how hard is it to say no? I did not beg her to do childcare. She really wanted to open a home daycare so naturally I thought of her. Would you be upset?
