It was fabulous through about Season 6 or 7, if I remember correctly. Went downhill during 8.

Sadly, no. Not by a long shot. I used to be riveted by this show. Now, I hate watch it.

Maybe I will give it a shot. I gave up on that show early during the second season. I heard Morgan moved over to it so I figured it got better, but I wasn't confident.

No.

This show always needed an end goal. I think that they needed, post governor, to move the show into truly brand new world territory. Change the direction, no longer primarily horror but world building. They get to Alexandria and find DC back up and half running. Government starting up, show goes into trials and tribulations of that. The grind of existing in a hopeless post apocalyptic landscape just doesn't make for that good television after a certain point.

I don't mind the couples, I am just not interested in most of their storylines like proposals and love scenes mostly due to Negan and his harem and Andrea and the governor. They pretty much ruined love and lust on the show.

OP here and I agree with all of you. The Rick/Michonne and Carol/Ezekiel couplings make me ill. The PP who said it turned Michonne/Carol into giggling schoolgirls was so right. Not the dynamic I like to see on this particular show. It seems like the writers are trying to conveniently pair everybody up, when the story doesn't need to go in that direction. Oh, and now Jerry has hooked up with that woman from Oceanside. Dumb and unnecessary. Plus, Jerry has got to be the most annoying character, next to Ezekiel.

Maggie always has a sour look on her face, with her downturned mouth, and it's getting old.

The only character I consistently love and will always love until my dying day is Daryl. That man can do no wrong.

The writers need to take a hint and think of a way of ending the show. When major cast members on a show are voluntarily leaving, you know the show is no longer good and needs to come to an end. The rating must be pretty bad because they keep advertising "Rick's last 2 episodes" in an attempt to get people to come back and watch. It's sad that it has come to this because I use to really love this show.

I hate watch it. I started really hating the show when Michonne and Rick became a couple. Michonne went from a warrior to a giggling school girl. They're doing the same with Carol. It truly started stinking when they did the cliffhanger with Glenn and he ended up under the dumpster. This show needs to die. Fear isn't any better, especially since they killed Madison.

I gave up after season 8.

I think this last episode (3rd) was good and I feel like it getting back to the appeal of the first few seasons. Agree that this should be the last. Especially with Rick and Maggie leaving.

Is anyone still watching TWD? Season 9 is not looking any better than Season 8. It's become so BOR-ing and silly. The whole romance between Carol and Ezekiel is bizarre. I find both of them incredibly annoying.

The entire plot has become so repetitive - Hilltop, Alexandria, the Sanctuary, etc. Back and forth, who's going to provide food to whom, etc. Boring. I'm hoping they'll explore this other, mystery group that Jadis was communicating with (the helicopter, etc.). There just has to be something more. Otherwise, this needs to be the last season.
