I think I agree with you that opening up AP courses to more people isn't a good idea. Having kids in AP classes who don't really belong hurts the kids that do belong
Jay Matthews is an idiot that doesn't mean more students in AP. All students should be Challenged at the appropriate level. Most kids aren't ready for college material in high school

The full report does not omit Asians--there's some info there. For example, if you hit "Show all groups," it states that white students are 1.5 times more likely to be suspended than Asian/Pacific Islander students.
