How young is she?
Could she put on whatever princess dress/Doc Mc Stuffins costume/puppydog pajamas/traditional muslim dress that she has, and you take her to grandma's house to show off her outfit and get candy or make cookies? You could present it to her as we don't want to focus on scaring people with the dead, we are going to celebrate with/honor the living?
Instead of carving pumpkins, could you get a couple of pie pumpkins and try to make a pumpkin pie or pumpkin bread from scratch and roast pumpkin seeds?
Would your husband object to modifying the American traditions like that?
The churches that object to Halloween do stuff like this for their fall festivals and alternative Halloween events.
