OP here--not looking for a mid-year switch. We'll be moving this summer if we go. Not sure if that changes the note from the pp about advocating for a specific class. My guess is that we get what we get from a class placement perspective

Uh, no, you shouldn't do that. Parents don't get to choose teachers. And you're not going to get to have a trial run in each potential class either. If you're starting mid-year, you'll be placed in whichever class has space available.

Hey, OP here and we're still looking. One question that we would love to get a sense of--would a bookish, math-focused, not sporty and super motivated learner find peers? He has a hard time socially, so, finding supportive schools with academically-focused peers is really important to us

I live in stonegate. The neighborhood is very welcoming. Everyone loves the school. Just about everyone belongs to the pool.

The families I know are happy there.

Former MCPS teacher, I loved that school. The school also has a gifted & talented center there. The neighborhood is very nice and near the inter county connector for easy commuting. The parents are pretty friendly as well. I think you’ll like the school.

We are looking to relocate from DTSS. Anyone who can comment on the teachers, community, culture of the school? I'd be grateful!
