As a woman in her 40's, I agree. I'm done having kids. If I was to go back on the dating scene, I would not be looking for anything too serious, but I wouldn't ever rule out living together/getting married once the kids are much much older (mine are 10 and 13 now).

My kids are similar ages. I make a lot of money and have a substantial estate. I have work flexibility and have every other long weekend to go away- I’m 43 and have healthy kids, won’t have more. I’m not really interested in step parenting anyone else’s kids, and I don’t feel lonely in any way between my 80% custody and full time job. I just want to find someone sexy and decent at conversation who has equal financial and free time opportunities for some travel and hot sex on off weekends, or midday romps as I work from home. I will not marry again but at some point I’m sure I will settle down in a long term relationship. Basically after carrying another adult on my back for years I have no interest. Life is extremely easy when single and I love it- but sharing a good meal and flirting then lots of sex? I’m in.

I’m 43 and haven’t dated since I was 32. I’d rather be alone than deal with the nonsense anymore

Just be upfront and honest with people. There are plenty of people in DC looking for temporary situations. Just don't waste the time of those that aren't.

This has been the case for me, though I'm 39. No problem dating mid-20s or my own age. Early 30s and never married want nothing to do with me.

Early 40s woman here strongly considering divorce. You will be fine. You sound like exactly what I would be looking for...no more kids and nothing too serious.

+1 Though he could also have luck with professional women who are very career-focused and don't have time to invest in relationships. If he doesn't want anything serious, he's basically talking about hooking up and/or not being exclusive. He'll need to be completely up front about that, but he'll find takers.

Date separated/divorced moms your age or slightly younger. Please don’t lead younger women on to thinking you want something serious. Be upfront about that.

If your self description is accurate, you will be fine. You don't have to go online, just put the word out you're looking and....ask women out!

Profile is highly successful professional, above average looks, active in community, athletic, etc. Have been blessed in life outside of the relationship dept. Not looking for anything serious and anticipate that could be an issue. Also never experienced the whole online hookup/dating scene. Soon to be ex and I have been married over 10 yrs. Curious as to what is in store.
