The class email list is so you can invite everyone to your kids birthday party - and so they can invite you. At preschool age they almost always encourage inviting the whole class to avoid hurt feelings. You will probably start getting evites soon.

On nice days lots of kids hang out at the preschool playground after pickup.This is a great way to meet the parents especially if your kids are playing together.

I’m in the same boat OP. have reached out several times for group and individual play dates. With only one “sorry we can’t” response. I’m sorry i can’t help. But you aren’t alone

+1 on the birthday parties. My almost 3 year old daughter has 3 birthday parties this month. That is definitely the time to get to know other parents.

This is what I have done and it's worked well. Other opportunities to meet parents would be at school events -- do they have any? Like my preschool has a fall festival; there is also curriculum night and sometimes class parents try to organize events.

15:16 here, since I didn't have email addresses, I did handwritten notes with my email and phone number and left them in other kid's cubby for parents.

I'm the new mom at my son's preschool. As he mentions kids he likes playing with, I've invited them to our house for a playdate. We've had one friend/mom over so far and it was really nice. Plus she mentioned that a group of the moms are planning to get together soon, so I'm joining them. For me, it's about my son having some nice friends (he was at former center for 4 years so it's been a big transition), and I've made some good mom friends over the years.

You could always use the email list to introduce yourself and your child. You could ask the teacher if your child is gravitating toward any kids in particular, then get in touch with those parents:

I am a new mom from this month. Its a half day school.
I want to get to know other moms but can't find opportunities.
When I drop my 3yo off, everybody seems so busy
And when picking up, parents are just staying in the car.

Is it important to know other moms of the school?
I am just worried what if I am excluded from moms group or birthday party
Cause other moms seem to know each other
But I don't even know who are the moms of my dd's classmates.

And my school gave me the emails and addresses of other parents.
What's this for?
