You must be new to private schools. High school is when all private schools are the most competitive, because there are a lot of parents in the DC area who think like you.
Even with top grades, ECs, and excellent teacher recommendations, there’s no guarantee your child will be admitted at high school. For the Cathedral schools (NCS/STA) and Sidwell, admissions rates for 9th are below 10%...and dropping.
