If he was planning on participating he should 100% participate; its an ice breaker for the conversation; easy opening to talk about why he likes his school. If he didnt plan on dressing up, he shouldnt do it for show; he might feel uncomfortable all day.

He should dress up. They understand Spirit Week.
My son met with someone from Stanford wearing ripped jeans and a t-shirt. He very well may have had drumsticks sticking out of his bookbag. He got in.

if he would normally dress up, then dress up. Be who he is. He is not ridiculous if he is participating in life.

My ds’s top college choice is sending the area rep to host an info session at his school during spirit week. Ds has signed up to meet with him, and is applying to this school ED (SLAC with acceptance rate in the 20s).
The big dilemma is...does he go all out and dress for the theme day like he normally would, and show up to meet the rep that will do the first read of his application looking ridiculous, or does he dress normal that day and risk looking boring?
