All three. From what we now know about ADHD, both parents are most likely undiagnosed ADHD, but compensate. It runs in my family. My dad has it and his dad most likely had it based on what we know about him. There are relatives on DH side who have it.

Two. Both mild. It runs in my family. My sibs all have it (mild to severe) and it’s possible that I do as well, but have always been able to compensate. One complication is that anxiety can mimic ADHD. Treating comorbid anxiety really helped my kids and when my anxiety is under control I don’t have any attention issues.

I have only one kid- yes, I'm absolutely sure I have ADHD. My DH may also have a mild case (I keep that observation to myself, but DH shows signs). We both finished grad school, had good careers, etc.

DS has a very high IQ which, I can't say this without sounding like a jerk, we think he also inherited from us. It's probably why DH and I both managed to be successful without treatment or medication.

My DH has it.
My 10 Year old DD has it and so does. Her half sister and brother. My DH isn’t medicated with it and he graduated from hs back in 1996, so Adderall adn Riitalin was just starting out.

Y. There is a demonstrated genetic component to ADHD. My older son has mild inattentive that doesn't require medication. And my younger son has more noticeable hyperactive and inattentive combination that does require medication. They both plainly get it from me, but I have never medicated with prescription drugs. Caffeine/nicotine being all that was available when I was growing up, which I used/abused successfully to get me through (thankfully I quit smoking before my first child). I have learned various coping strategies for dealing with my inattentiveness, but looking back it definitely hurt my grades in HS and college. I took time off between college and graduate school, which allowed my brain to mature enough to handle graduate school and the time pressures that accompany that.

Yes, and my DH was diagnosed after our oldest was diagnosed. It explained so much.

Yes. Though DS was diagnosed at 18. DD at 14,15, but I suspected social hyper since early age, it just wasn't so severe. So, in fact DS has inattentive adn DD has hyper. Out of their 5 cousins, 3 have it on DH's side. My sister wasn't ever diagnosed, but if she doesn't have it I truly don't know what ADHD is. On our last trip, my sister lost her phone several times daily, she acted exactly like my DD, with constant going out, never letting anything go, actually stomping her foot to take a taxi and not walk 5 minutes. Sister is also a genius, not fake, real surgeon now and winning math competitions in Eastern Europe at national levels, and traveling to educations competitions around Europe. As mom and dad worked I was basically taking care of her. So, in many ways when my DD came along, I suppose it was pretty similar and I thought this is just how we are.

We have five kids. Two of them have ADHD. My oldest (DS28) and my youngest (DS17). I'm positive I have ADHD as well, but I've never been formally diagnosed. I was reading through the teacher comments on my elementary school report cards (yes, my mom still has them) and it is really, really obvious. No reason for me to get a diagnosis at this point - I would never take medication for it. But it does explain a lot.

Same! DH has it and it's been more of an issue with the chaos of kids. One kid is a bad case, the other's is mild (so much that we went a long time thinking he was fine compared to his sibling. Then he started having issues at school and it became apparent).
