My experience was misoprostol was faster and thus easier to manage the pain. I took it at night and passed everything (blighted ovum, discovered at 9 weeks) the next morning. Any cramping was managed by tylenol and I didn't have any vomiting or other side effects, either. With my second (basically a chemical at 5 weeks) I had spotting and cramping for 3 days before full flow. It was earlier, but felt more painful/took longer.

Good luck OP, just an FYI, I spotted/bled for a week before everything came out. The cramps got really intense right before I passed the products of conception, but it took a while. If it doesn't pass soon, you may want to consider the drugs too. Just my experience.

I am so sorry for your loss. It sucks!

OP here. Thank you. It has now been over 24 hours since I started miscarrying and have very light bleeding, comparable to a period. I think I’ll take the drugs tonight if this continues.

Good luck, OP. You're not alone in all of this.

I would definitely ask for something stronger. I still had pain though bearable even with taking percocet. I only took 3 percocet during the process. Heating pad helped as well. I had extra Zofran from nausea during pregnancy, but didnt use it since I had no nausea during the process.

My experience with misoprostol was "easy". Not an unbearable amount of pain, bleeding lasted the weekend. Fetus was measuring about 6.5 weeks. Sorry, OP.

Isn't blighted ovum at an early stage, why do you need misoprostol for it?

Np here. It can take a while for the body to recognize the blighted ovum. Mine was seen on an u/s at 7w, and I decided to wait it out. My m/c didn't happen until 11w. And I'll just say it was more painful than I expected, and took about 4 days, from the initial cramping until my body expelled what it needed to expel. I'm okay with my decision at the time to wait out a natural mc, but I wouldn't necessarily do it again.

With Zofran and Percocet I had no nausea and little pain. The whole thing was over much faster than my natural m/c and was not bad at all. Get Zofran and if you have stronger painkillers, take them.

Good luck, OP. Sorry you are in this position.

Me too. But all of mine (natural and misoprostol) were right around 6 or 7 weeks. I think the further along you were, the harder it may be.

I don't know if Zofran will help. The puking for me was pretty violent.

Hello, I had a natural miscarriage at 10 weeks (fetus stopped growing at 6 weeks). I managed the pain with ibuprofen. This time it’s a blighted ovum and I will be taking misoprostol. I was prescribed Motrin for the pain. Wondering if I will need something stronger and if I should ask for Zofran.
