We have family there and considered moving there a few times. Real estate in certain parts of CO (like Denver) has increased a lot in the past 7 years and things like childcare costs aren't any better in certain areas as well. $300K goes a LONG way still, but its highly dependent on where you live in CO and just like DC the burbs of say Denver are far more affordable then closer in.

NP here. DH got a recruiting call about Denver. We got major sticker shock on housing, even in the burbs.

CO is a big state. in the middle of Rocky mountain with Unabomber neighbors, I am sure it's, at least, UMC. Certain parts of Denver area? not so much.
