just did a search for Frankfurter and found this gem.

He’s very warm and very generous with his time. Also very data driven in his approaches. I’m really happy to have him as my RE.

He is very thorough, and will probably offer an opinion as to why your other cycles failed (if you did any). I found his consult useful, but ultimately didn't go with him because of bad SART stats.

I liked him very much. He didn’t have good news for us yesterday but he’s honest without being harsh and very smart. I enjoyed talking with him and asking him questions. He’s warm and caring and funny at times. Very modest as well.

If you haven't had an initial infertility evaluation, then he'll also probably fully explain the tests they do for both female and male (if applicable) partners and put in the orders for you to get that testing done starting with your next cycle. They likely will include bloodwork and antral follicle count (done by transvaginal ultrasound during morning monitoring hours, which at GW are 7:00-7:45 AM, first come first serve) and an HSG. You'll meet with your assigned nurse after your consult with Dr. F. The nurse will give you instructions on the timing of these tests and probably a handful of other information. The nurse I met with just blew through everything, without writing anything down, leaving me hopelessly confused, so I asked her to stop, backup, and go through it all with me slowly so I could understand each of the steps and what days they needed to happen. So if that happens to you, make sure you speak up loud and clear!
Finally, if you have a partner, take him/her with you if at all possible.

If I remember correctly, first meeting was pretty informational. He'll review your history and partner's history (if applicable), get a sense of what course you'd like to take, when you want to begin, his recommendations, you might need new blood work, give you a chance to ask questions, etc.

Just send all the requested paperwork over in advance. He will have reviewed it and will go over it with you, asking questions along the way. I thought he was very warm, thorough, scientific, and calming. Good luck!!

Hello!
I have my first appointment with Dr. Frankfurter in just a few weeks. What typically happens during the first meeting? Is there anything I should be prepared for in advance?
