This is ridiculous. If you are a secular organization with a venue to rent, let us know. My DD's school choir has performed in churches and I have no problem with that. (disclaimer: I am Christian) If my DD's school choir were to perform at a synagogue or mosque, I would have no problem with that either. I would assume that they would not be performing as part of a religious service.

OP here - Thanks, I found several churches that have halls that can be rented. Will also look into DCPS schools that have auditoriums.

Are school gyms too small?

DCPS schools will rent their auditoriums for fees; you have to apply / sign waivers etc.

Many churches in the area have stages / large auditoriums. That may be more affordable.

I'm looking into renting a venue (preferably in DC) that could hold around 250 people for a school talent show. I've been looking into various theaters and comedy locations, but of course they're quite expensive to rent and we're trying not to break the bank. Anyone know if schools will rent out their auditoriums or do they not allow that due to liability issues? Other lower-cost suggestions such as a community theaters or rec center near the city that has a stage, etc.?
