Our catholic school does, for any volunteering where you are with children. It's not required if you're not with the kids, like if you're helping with making copies and such.

At both of the privates we attended, the schools ran internet searches on us as part of the admissions process, and later on they ran searches as part of development pitches. We found out about it after the fact. It felt invasive.
