If you do a search, you will definitely find more threads. My experience also is that there is a range of incomes from middle class to rich. Dues are not prohibitive. It is a social club that provides activities (that you pay for) and service opportunities. Many of our activities are open to non-members to help pay for the activities and/or to make money.

I have neighbors and friends in J & J and I've attended one of their events, but if I were interested in joining, DCUM would not be the first place I'd ask. I'm surprised you got one informed answer so far! Take that PP's advice and ask folks who are members.

I forgot to add that dues are per family, and I’m 99% sure that is the case nationwide. Out of pocket costs may be higher for a larger family because you will have more age-specific events to attend.

Apparently, the Real Housewives of Potomac originally was supposed to be about Jack and Jill, until they decided to make it a Housewives show. That’s why they talked so much (too much) about etiquette the first season.

It's a thing for black people. It's like ... an organization for either affluent black people or black people who want to become affluent. I read a book about it a couple of years ago by a guy who grew up in it. It's to give them connections they would not otherwise have.

We were thinking about joining Jack and Jill of America. Was wondering if anyone knew how much annual dues were. Do you pay per child or is it per family?
