Here's something that has a lot of info on the Ikea date stamps I haven't found anywhere else

I did. Ikea even came to pick it up. I couldn't find the date stamp but didn't look very hard. I seem to remember getting 150 or something like that.

I did not return. We own two. One is strapped to the wall. The other is on the to-do list (I’m aware and the kids stay out of that room, and the older kids know to not pull drawers out/alert me if someone does). Will get to it soon.

Why wouldn't you return something if the maker is recalling it and willing to pay you for it? Regardless of whether you want it for not.

The company wants it back. Why are people suggesting that this is somehow sleezy?

We aren't missing the point, OP submitted a poorly written post asking if people have returned their dressers and everyone is saying "No", answering the question as written. She didn't say "For those that did, how did it work" her title says "Did you?"

Um, take a deep breath, I think pp was meant it more as a knock on OP (for wanting to take advantage of a recall just to get free cash for something she doesn't want) than on the people responding.

I have an older Hemnes dresser and contacted Ikea to get it attached to the wall.* They sent someone out who strapped it to the wall, so no more tipping concerns.

*(single mom, usually pretty handy but this seemed like I should let someone else do it)

All your dressers, no matter where they came from, should be anchored to the wall.

Well, actually there have been like 28 deaths due to Ikea dressers.

If you don't want to return yours, that's fine. My question was more for those who actually did return theirs and especially if they didn't have a date stamp on the item.... how did that go?

Agree with PPs and no, we didn't return anything. Our ikea furniture is so much LESS tippy than our antique stuff or items purchased elsewhere. They just get attention because their products are so wide spread and their market share so large.

All dressers and tall or tippy furniture should be anchored to the wall.

Just about every IKEA product has a recall because someone, somewhere in the world had an accident. We bought several nightlights a few years back and they were recalled. I read the details of the recall where someone was able to separate two pieces of plastic on the night light. I tried to do it and wasn’t able to even with prying with a screwdriver. I still use the night lights.
Read the recall. My guess is that the dresser will tip over if all the drawers are open.

We have two and no, we didn’t return. They are tippy if all drawers are open and they aren’t secured to the wall. Otherwise they’re fine.

Did you return an Ikea dresser that was part of their recall?

Were you able to find a date stamp?

How much did they give you?

I can't find a date stamp.
