Well, for starters:

- you don't get yourself murdered. Someone murders you.
- one person's control over another person's actions is very limited
- there is a lot of overlap between "leading a normal life in public places" and "the stuff that gets you murdered, ladies"
- lots of ladies do that stuff all the time and don't get murdered
- blaming women for getting themselves murdered is a long and time-honored tradition, but it needs to stop

Disregard safety, women, because men shouldn't kill you! RIGHT. That doesn't help this poor woman now she is dead. Since I live in reality, I will continue to think I should be wary of men!

That’s awful. I live in the area. Two blocks east of there is a notorious crime spot but 11th is usually quiet. Seems random as well. Very scary and a reminder to stay vigilant now that the sun is setting earlier.
