If anyone is going to McLean from Arlington it is because that program is like 60% non Arlington residents and they did not make a team.
Even over half of the kids in the ADP program come from fairfax county or DC.
Arlington soccer is too big or needs to find a way to meet its own county’s kids ability to play locally.

I’m not a fan of McLean, but as a rule of thumb, don’t register the same month in which league play starts.

+1 True re: reputation. Ask around the parents who left.

Pro staffers have no accountability and do what they want, why OP would you expect the administrative staff to behave any differently? I volunteered there once long ago and they just don't treat you well. Inflexible.

PP right Go to a different club without that reputation.

There are many clubs in the area depending on where you are located: Herndon, Arlington, VYS, Reston, Bethesda, DC Stoddert.

Help OP out! what club are you at? Reston Great Falls? Herndon? FPYC?

OP how far are you willing to drive? I know many who love soccer but wouldnt drive farther than ~10-15 minutes unless it was a last resort. If you really want him to play and you cant find a team, look into clinics, once a week training at indoor facilities.

You should check with other clubs in the area if they have spots on their teams in your DS age group. It is fairly easy to find spots on travel teams, but even rec teams might have spots if they play in the house league. I think you might be too late for SFL team, because their rosters are most likely finalized by now.

No mafia, at least not one to be fearful of from the inner city part of Mclean. What are you venting about, your son didn't make a travel team. Now you're saying you weren't given a spot because you paid late for rec?

Here is a tip, tryouts are not guaranteed so if you don't make it move to another team or play rec. If you choose to play rec, pay on time or even better, pay early. If they don't get enough volunteers they could boot you even if you paid on time.

Get back in your Jag and head to Tyson's and chill out.

you paid late probably with no guarantee from MYS. the previous instance had not enough takers for a 3rd? team.

why not find another club that has space and availability if you really want DS to play?
