PP here - it's the way the elastic is done on the ankles and wrist cuffs. They're bunchy at first, but don't hang over the hands or feet because they're nice wide cuffs and hold up the excess fabric. Then they seem like they grow with the kid.

Compared to other brands, he has outgrown 4Ts from Gap, Old Navy. Gymboree seems to run big, so still in 4Ts there.
As someone else said, this is really rare for him to be able to wear pajamas for that long. He's worn the size 100 while going from 2T to 5T in other brands...
