Yes, as long as it's used for the home. No longer deductible if used for other purposes under the new tax law, though.

Possible to tighten the belt and save cash over the next few months? Plan the project in phases.
That would help avoid giving money to the big bank and contractors may be hungry, cheaper during the winter months.

About 30k to do necessary home updates- flooring, a bathroom, etc., and serious repairs. I could take it out from investments, but it still is tax deductible. Ok or not ok?
