Every time I’ve gone to a dealership for an oil change it takes 2+ hours. Eff that.

Dealerships are usually overpriced and there is no one I hate more than Koons Silver Spring. They screwed up EVERYTHING I took my car in for. I took it in for a light bulb change and had to leave it for a few days because they had to take the bumper off and order the light bulb. I came back days later only to find the light bulb wasn't working. That is just the tip of the iceberg.

I happily go to other mechanics.

Yet another person driving a luxury brand car that can’t maintain it. If you have to ask then you should be driving a Kia.

I know of two different people who had them forget to put the cap back on the oil pan. All of the oil dripped out, seizing the engine. Both cars totaled.

I go to the dealer. My DH will go to anybody.

I always stick with the dealership while the car is under warranty but then switch to a local mechanic/shop after that

Similar thing happened to DH. They drained the oil then "replaced" it but hadn't put the drain plug back on properly so the oil all drained out very quickly and the engine was toast.

For a luxury car like a Lexus, or a European import, I would take to the dealership or to a mechanic that specializes in those cars. I’ve seen people roll up to Jiffy Lube with a VW or a Lexus and Jiffy Lube doesn’t have the parts they need because they just aren’t as common of cars as Honda’s and Chevys. That said I absolutely take my old Honda Civic to Jiffy Lube for routine stuff.
