The fact that Bruce Arena said that there’s nothing wrong with our system, and players don’t really fall through the cracks, AFTER we failed to qualify is truly pathetic.

Yes. I have zero hope for US soccer. I was so disappointed after the last election cycle. Why?? Why more of the same??? Because it's all rigged.

True. Gulati's right hand man is running the federation now, Arena's right hand man is the "acting coach." Garber and Co. have the same smug smiles as Arena, Cordero, Gulati, Brazer, etc. Same old mafia.

With this level of incompetence by the USSF, is there a reason to expect a different result in the next qualifying cycle?

How is taking the time to look for a new coach incompetence?

If you are unable to to find a coach for your national team in 11 months, you are incompetent.

US Soccer hired their new GM, whose job it is to hire a coach, in June.
So it's been three months.

Last winter we had a chance to vote for change or more of the same.

These folks tipped the balance and decided more of the same was exactly what we needed: https://ussfathletecouncil.com/.

Gold Cup is next June. Btw, teams start to prepare for the qualifying cycle long before it starts. European teams are already playing in the UEFA Nations league. We have wasted a year since there is no head coach to evaluate the players.

OMG!!! What are we gonna do about it!!!?

I could care less about who wins the Gold Cup, but every detail matters in preparation for the WC qualifying (including player evaluation, developing the style of play), as the last WC cycle has demonstrated. Having team rudderless for 11 months is not encouraging. But, hey, some will be be arrogant like our last coach who failed to qualify for Russia 2018 and assume that we've got it in the bag.
