I’ve taught at 6 schools in my district. None have done anything. I’m okay with nothing for me. I wonder if it would be possible to move BTSN to a Friday though? So sleepy the next day and often the kids trick their sitters into letting them stay up. So they are sleepy, too.

The fact that you’ve moved around shows that you were unhappy and under appreciated. Please don’t rain on OP’s parade because her PTA happens to be phenomenally functioning and appreciates their school.

Lol! I moved because I either took maternity leave or was a more challenging position. Enjoy your school year!

My school (not PTA) does pizza the night of. Sometimes potbelly. Pta made us cookies for first day of school and brings in platters of cheese and fruit on grading days. I’m always grateful. I also prefer real food to desserts. But I appreciate any gesture, truly.

Same here. It would be nice if we had pizza or something since we have to stay after school and through dinner. We usually run out to Panera and then run back to school. We don't even have a PTA.

Teachers honestly don't need or want to be fed at every opportunity. The constant lunches, breakfasts, snacks, and the worst -the cookie exchange -which is really a cookie distribution are not really very good or enjoyable. Teachers are always polite but this is more something that parents do for themselves to feel like they are doing something for the school.

Nothing. Our principal buys us pizza that night and coffee and donut holes the next morning.

Our PTA does a thank you lunch with brunch items from Panera or Costco. Ideally Costco because it is cheaper but someone has to have a membership and make the run.

If from Panera:

- Plain crossiants or bagels
-Sandwiches
-A few salads for the gluten free
-Cookie Platters from Safeway
-Drinks from Safeway

If from Costco:

-Sanwich platters
-Cookie platters
- Salad trays
-assorted beverages
-Coleslaw

Why do they need to do anything? I have stayed late at work many nights without a next morning treat. These are professionals. We do not need to bribe them with fat and sugar. It is insulting.

Well then why don't you run yourself down to Krispy Kreme and buy a few dozen doughnuts. I bet it would cost you about 20 bucks.
