NP. All of the above, plus they treat residential areas like their personal speedway and act annoyed/inconvenienced/aggressive when they have to yield to pedestrians or follow traffic signals.

It is a maddening combination of poor skills, arrogance and complete lack of concentration on the road.

Imagine a MD driver who doesn't know how to parallel park, trying to parallel park into a bus zone (between other illegally parked Maryland drivers) trying to operate their cell phone at the same time and giving the finger to anyone who confronts them (like someone waiting for the bus) about their terrible skills and disregard for everyone else.

We drove to FL this past spring break and the two craziest things we saw on the road (both in FL) were committed by MD drivers.

All of the above and more. MD drivers can be summed up as, doing what they want, when they want, because they just want to. Meaning they tend to have no concept of moderating and going with the flow of things around them on the road.

It all comes down to the fact that MD has no real traffic enforcement. In VA if you are going 10-15 over regularly you are going to get a ticket plus there is reckless for 20+ over or 80+. MD doesn't have any of that which is why you see more speeding from MD drivers.

+ 1. I say at as a former Marylander and Virginian. It’s a different in the driving styles. MD and Va drivers are extreme opposites when t comes to caution. VA drivers are terrible too. The best drivers are transplants from the Midwest or Pennsylvania in my anecdotal experience.

Yep. I dislike murderland with a passion. A relative of 20 yrs old was killed in a car in md when a 38 yr old made an oopsie and pressed gas instead of brake killing several.

Absolutely true. This fact is borne out every single day on the roads around here.

This is non-disputed. Think of it as a challenge every day. Why go ziplining or on roller coasters when 270 provides the same thrill?

Of 200 cities ranked by Allstate (years between claims), Baltimore ranked... #200.

Honestly, 4/5 times I see an accident in VA or DC, at least one - if not both - cars have MD plates. The entire area could use a driving course, but there's no denying that MD drivers are officially the worst.
