OP - did they have to bring the car from a different dealer? Sometimes they drive it over.

Seriously people? 200 miles is not a ton of miles but a simple explanation from the dealer would resolve this right away.

Was the car on the lot for 9 months?
Did someone buy the car and then return it within 72 hours?
Was it used as a dealer car?

OP probably got a 2018 vehicle that was an early arrival (think Dec 2017) and it sat, either because it's loaded with every option or it is bare bones. The car was used as a test drive vehicle most likely throughout the past X months.

Depends on the car. A Honda or Toyota should typically have less than 50 miles. Most of the ones I've bought have less than 10. Anything above 50 miles would seems excessive to me. I probably wouldn't buy a car with 200 miles unless I had no choice and was given a very big discount.

It's not uncommon. Did the dealership you bought from have the car you wanted on the lot, or were they trading with another dealership to get the particular color/package you wanted? When we bought ours, that's what happened (and what we knew would happen since we knew where the only one was, but wanted to buy from our local dealer). They drove the car up from the first dealership, which was ~75 miles away. That plus test drives put it around 200 miles off the lot. (And they drove one of their cars down to trade, so presumably that car went off to its new home with a similar number of miles on it.)

I was chatting w a dealer recently and the dealer demo had 5K on it. I walked away.

200 is a test drive + someone took it home for the weekend.

Yes. One had 91 and the other had about 200.

I just bought a new car, got a great deal on it etc etc, was mostly negotiated over the phone since I'd already done test drives on type of vehicle, was just seeking particular options, color combo. Noticed after I drove away that it had roughly 200 miles on it.

I mean I realize all these cars will have been through test-drives before etc and mine had to come from a different site but still assumed that was all happening on a truck? is this normal or did I maybe get a car that had been used for something in particular -- shouldn't they have told me if that was the case?
